Shut Up And Do It!

.
Today I want to ask you about your level of commitment to your dream. I want to know if you have really got what it takes, to make your dreams come true. I want to talk to you about either committing to doing it, or accepting that you are not going to do it.
.
Most importantly, I want to talk about being brutally honest with yourself, to see if you are actually willing to do the work. To stop kidding yourself. To stop pretending. To really stop and ask yourself “Am I actually willing to do everything that I must, in order to achieve my goal?”
.
You see it’s very easy to get excited about losing 50 lbs. Until you are actually standing on the treadmill. It’s very easy to get excited about buying a new car. Until you are punching-in for overtime. And it’s very easy to get excited about building your own business, until you actually have to put some money into it.
.

weightloss.
The fact is, it could very well be a long, hard road to actually accomplish this amazing dream or goal of yours. In fact, it may even be harder than you’ve imagined. And yes, there will be a thousand times, a million times, an infinite number of times, that your mind will mess you up.
.
There will be many times that part of your mind, with the intention of protecting you from pain, will try to convince you that your dreams simply aren’t worth the effort. Your negative mind will constantly serve up such cautionary thoughts as “No. It’s too hard. It’s too much work. It’s too much effort. It’s beyond my ability. I can’t do it. I’m too tired. I’m too…whatever.”
.
And, if you simply accept, unchallenged, any of those halting mental impulses, what will happen is, that other highly persuasive part of your mind - the creative aspect that loves to experience pleasure - will undoubtedly agree.
.
If you let your negative thoughts keep putting on the brakes, and if you keep on listening to all that crap about it being too hard to achieve, then very soon your positive mind will give you the go ahead to continue on that self-defeating path.
.
The part of your mind that loves to experience pleasure will then kick in and offer many seductive options like “Yes! It will feel so much better to just roll over and go to sleep. Or even to pour myself a drink and relax a bit. Or maybe just watch some television…yeah, that’s it. I’ve been working really hard today. I’ve earned myself a break. I can always do that other stuff later. I know it’s really important and I know I could even do it now if I really wanted to, but right now I think I’m just gonna relax and take it easy for awhile…mmm, yeah, that’ll feel SOOOO goood…”
.
Hey!
.
LISTEN!
.
WAKE UP!
.
WAKE UP!
.
.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE! UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!!!
.
.
Do you really think it will be easier, faster, better, safer, simpler tomorrow? No. Tomorrow you will be older. Tomorrow you will be slower. Even less inspired. Even less eager to do the work. Tomorrow you will not only have to do tomorrow’s work, but make up for everything that you didn’t do today. Tomorrow you will be more clever, and even more willing to rationalize than you are willing to today.
.
UNLESS! Unless you decide to make it happen. Now. Unless you start taking action. Now. Unless you DECIDE to begin. To keep up. To keep on moving. Now! To keep on IMPROVING. NOW! Now is the time for action. There is plenty of time for rest. There is plenty of time for play. But now is not that time. Now is the time to make it happen.
.
So what are you waiting for? Quit reading! Quit wasting time! QUIT THINKING. QUIT STALLING! Quit talking about what you are going to do and get out there and do it!
.
.
SHUT UP AND GET TO WORK!!!
